Building with steel From the Ground UP

25 November 2010

Four Australian couples will be building their dream homes in a new show to be aired on Channel Ten from October called From the Ground UP, with the help of roofing made from COLORBOND® steel and framing made from TRUECORE® steel.

From the Ground UP is set to be the biggest building show ever produced in Australia. It features four Australian couples in their quest to each build a brand new home at Murrays Beach, a waterfront development at Lake Macquarie, in just 10 weeks. Audiences will gain an insight into every aspect of building a new home, from initial planning through to installing the front door.

The couples are each building an impressive steel framed G.J Gardner Home and competing to create the best value property to win A$100,000 cash prize pool and a brand new car.

Each episode will include a challenge that the contestants have to undertake, such as installing a steel house frame, a roof, guttering and rainwater tanks. The couple that is judged to be the best on each building challenge will be awarded value-add prizes for their home.

BlueScope Steel has come onboard as a major sponsor of the show and will be providing roofing and rainwater goods made from COLORBOND® steel and steel trusses and frames made from TRUECORE® steel for each of the homes.
