Local business launches with steel framing
New company, Steeline Truss and Frame Mount Gambier, has launched to offer local residents the option of steel house framing and trusses.
The company officially launched on 31 March to over 100 local builders, architects and designers in the new 600 square metre factory which promises to bring new business to the area.
Steeline Mount Gambier owner, Tony Steen, explains: "We saw an opportunity in the market for a local company to produce house frames made from TRUECORE® steel and so we teamed up with builder, Des Braithwaite, to form the new business.
"We have been working with steel for years in our roofing business, so adding steel house framing to our portfolio was an obvious move for us as we understand the material and its numerous benefits, such as termite resistance which is a huge benefit."
Mount Gambier is an area that has traditionally used timber frames for homes, so providing the option of house framing made from TRUECORE® steel as an alternative will be a real advantage to local homeowners, in particular due to its resistance to termites and borers which are an ongoing problem in the area.
House frames made from TRUECORE® steel are extremely strong and won't shrink, twist or warp, while remaining straight and true throughout a home's life. They offer a very ‘future considerate' solution as steel is one of the most recycled materials on earth and all steel made by BlueScope Steel includes recovered steel in its manufacture.
Designed especially for the Australian market, residential house frames made from TRUECORE® steel come with a 50 year warranty* and provide peace of mind to both the builder and homeowner alike.
